SHIH HSIANG (SH AUTO PARTS) Shih Hsiang Auto Parts focuses on the pursuit of excellence in suspension parts, track control arm and wishbone arm production, and has been a global leader and OE solution provider in this field for over 40 years.

The combination of continuous commitment to customizing diversified items, deep integration with the global market (exporting to over 88 countries), precise in-house product development capability and widest car model coverage with over 12,000 sets of tooling, the company has become an influential expert in the industry.

The family-owned business, based in Taipei, was founded in 1978. Now with 500 employees, the company prides itself on its production technologies, inspection equipment and manufacturing processes. All SH departments are certified to the TUV ISO 9001:2000 standard. The company has factories in Taiwan and China. Apart from being a leading strategic supplier and strong partner to their customers in both North America and Europe, Shih Hsiang also makes products available under its SH brand in fast-growing markets, including Asia, Middle East, Latin Americas, and Russian Federation. The company’s opened a new mega-sized plant in Dounan in February, covering an area ten times the size of an American football field. The factory will bring customers much shorter lead times with powerful capacity support. The whole plant is monitored by IOT allowing production status to be tracked in real time as well as maintaining premium quality. Manufacturing is heavily automated, including an automated storage retrieval system and automatic stamping and welding lines, while the use of solar panels makes a substantial contribution to the energy transition. The Covid-19 pandemic has had some important effects on the company’s business, since it says that economic pressure is causing drivers to delay purchasing new cars, meaning that repairs on their current (and older) vehicles become even more vital. In addition, online B2C sales of automotive parts and accessories in North America and Europe are expected to account for 10-15% of the overall aftermarket by 2020. As DIY rises in popularity again, SH says the prospects for the whole automotive market are bright. SH is well prepared for the EV trend and its suspension control arms will also be applied to electric car models. It already supplies front control arms for the Tesla Model 3, upgraded this year with higher durability, tensile strength and lighter weight thanks to a new ball joint design and upgraded materials. The company has joined the electric vehicle platform, “MIH Alliance” established by Hon Hai and aimed at sharing and innovation within the segment
